She was very excited that all the “smoke” in the press might finally mean that there was “fire” in the form of investors. We immediately felt a wave of exhaustion. This push for diverse investment managers seems to be our own personal Groundhog Day. It happens again and again, and while some small progress is discernable each time, it is neither significant nor sustainable. Yet, despite these challenges, it is never an option to give up.”
